How to participate

Everyone is welcome to participate at the symposium and present their ideas and experiences. We welcome all students who want to take charge of their career and learn about the extra skills needed for a successful start of their professional life. Symposium will also be a great opportunity for companies to present their needs to the international group of students.

Topics for presentations are divided in two main sections: paper presentations and poster presentations. Due to short duration of the symposium and space limitations, we decided that only the best papers and posters would be presented. Special invitations will be sent to 12 authors of papers and 12 authors of posters after a careful reviewing process. See Paper and Poster submission section for further information.

Paper and Poster Submission

Time schedule
20. 9. 2000 camera-ready paper and poster deadline
25. 9. 2000 notification of acceptance
2. 10. 2000 payment of registration fee
18. 10. 2000 beginning of symposium

Your camera-ready paper and poster abstract should be sent to the email address: paper@um.ieee.si, on 20th September, 2000 at the latest. Papers should not exceed more than four (4) pages. Poster presenters should prepare extended abstract of two (2) pages. The page limit is strict. Both will go through a reviewing process.

A selection of papers and poster abstracts will be published in the proceedings of the symposium. To help us maximize the quality of presentations we decided that only invited speakers would be able to present their work at the symposium. Invitations will be based on the quality of the paper.

We expect that both the paper/poster submission algorithm and deadlines, presented on this site, will be respected by contributing authors.

Presentations of the invited papers will be limited to 20 minutes. Additional 10 minutes will be available for discussion. Of course, there will be plenty of time for informal discussions.

Authors retain copyright on their papers (which means that they can reuse them later), but they also give IEEE SB Maribor a permission to publish the proceedings and author information on their WWW pages.
